LICON (Listavia International Consultants Ltd) was set up to produce innovative Transport systems, including the Service Tunnel Transport System for the Channel Tunnel project.
LICON’s latest innovation - Low Profile Moving Walkways - has been designed to meet the growing need for rapid transit equipment which is simple and self-contained, avoiding the necessity to cut into the floors of buildings.
LICON has produced prospective advanced rapid transit schemes for UK high density population centres, including Guildford as Project Leader to Guildford Rapid Transit, and as Project Engineers to Briway for Bournemouth and Southampton.
The Company is currently tasked under the Independent Transport Initiative to investigate the prospects of converting urban commuter rail systems to guided people movers that give much higher traffic flows at lower cost by eliminating track sector possession rails, switches and signalling.
